Website Terms of Use

By accessing or otherwise using the Deloitte Learning Academy website (the Website), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (Terms) and you understand that these Terms are not subject to negotiation. The Website is owned and operated by Deloitte & Touche LLP and its affiliated entities (Deloitte). Deloitte provides access to the Website to you subject to these Terms. Deloitte is entitled, at its sole and absolute discretion, to amend, add or remove any part of these Terms at any time without notice and you should periodically read these Terms. Your continued use of the Website after this time constitutes an agreement by you to abide by and be bound by these Terms, as amended from time to time.

Registration

In order to access the interactive parts of the Website you need to register as a user in accordance with the instructions on the Website. Upon registration you will be issued with a user name and password so you can use the Website. Deloitte may refuse to register anyone without giving a reason for such refusal

  • harvest or collect email addresses or other contact information from other users;
  • threaten or harass anyone;
  • invade anyone's privacy;
  • disrupt other users' enjoyment of the Website;

  • use the Website in any unlawful manner or in any other manner that could damage, overburden or impair the Website.

In the event that it is discovered that you have breached these Terms, you understand that Deloitte may, without limiting its other rights and remedies available at law:

  • in the event that such breach is illegal, to the extent permitted by applicable law, notify the proper authorities and make available to them any content provided by you.

You must not establish links on any other website to the Website or any other part or parts of the Website without the prior written consent of Deloitte.

The Website may contain links to third party content providers' website (Third Party Website). In the event that you enter a Third Party Website via the Website, you immediately become subject to that Third Party Website's privacy policies and any other terms and conditions contained therein. The linking to a Third Party Website from the Website does not constitute endorsement by Deloitte of any material set out in the Third Party Website, or any associated organisation, product or service. Deloitte is not responsible for any content, material or information contained or made available on any Third Party Website.

Privacy

Your information is used to process your application. If successful, your information will be used to administer your attendance at a conference and gala, hosted by IPAC, and may be used to facilitate media interviews. With your consent, we may also use your personal information to send you future communications about services, information and events program sponsors Deloitte and IPAC believe may be of interest to you. We may also contact you to seek feedback on our services or for market or other research purposes. Your personal information may also be used to protect our rights or property and that of our users and, where appropriate, to comply with legal process.

You may at any time request that we discontinue sending you emails or other communications generated in response to your registration on this website.

Intellectual Property

Unless indicated otherwise, all intellectual property in the information, text, material, graphics, software, advertisements and other material on the Website is owned or licensed by Deloitte. Subject to these conditions of use, Deloitte grants to you a non-exclusive and non-transferable limited licence to view, download and use information directly accessible through the Website, in accordance with these Terms.

You agree that, subject to your use of the Website in accordance with the limited licence granted to you, you will not infringe Deloitte's or any third party's intellectual property in the Website and will not modify, copy, reproduce, upload to a third party, post, transmit, republish, frame, distribute or communicate any part of the Website or any information or content contained in it or otherwise use the Website in a way which will infringe Deloitte's or any third party's intellectual property or other rights.

  • the replacement of the goods or supply of equivalent goods;
  • the repair of the goods;

Breach and Termination

If you breach any provision of these Terms, Deloitte may immediately issue a warning, temporarily suspend or permanently prevent your access to all or certain parts of the Website.

Choice of Law and Use of Website

These Terms are to be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and federal laws of Canada. By accessing or otherwise using this Website, you agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Ontario and federal laws of Canada. Deloitte has designed the Website for use only within Canada and makes no warranties or representations with regard to use by persons accessing, downloading or otherwise using the Website outside the Canada. The Website is available only to people in Canada who can form legally binding contracts under applicable law.

Website security

The Website has in place generally accepted standards of technological security for the purpose of protecting information provided by visitors from misuse, loss, or corruption. Only authorised personnel have access to personally identifiable information submitted through the Web site. Such employees are required to maintain the confidentiality of this sensitive data. The policy also applies to any and all agents, affiliates, and related entities of Deloitte that may receive such information from Deloitte. The website uses a level 1 PCI DSS compliant service provider to process credit card transactions.
